When I stop and think about Glenda, sometimes, I wonder how she makes it from one day to the next. She is a senior, abandoned by her husband, who lives alone in a split-level house in Duluth, and is a professing Christian. Her house has had many significant problems, and Glenda herself has struggled with numerous physical ailments, as well as falls. Just recently, she was hospitalized and had surgery for chronic nose bleeds. All of which has contributed to severe financial hardship. In fact, at one point, she had no water or gas at her house, and was using firewood for heat.

It’s not overstating the matter to say that HRM supporters, like you, have helped Glenda stay in her home.  Some of the projects we have worked on include:

* Insulating between the main floor and crawl space

* Re-siding the chimney frame

* Patching of several roof leaks

* Repairing burst water lines from not having heat in the house

* Replacing and enlarging her deck - it was too shallow to allow the storm door to safely open

All of this has been a tremendous relief to Glenda. She is very thankful for HRM and for you, our supporters. In fact, in response to one of the projects, she said, “Thank you for the work your people did on my deck. It was scary to use, caused me several falls, and just rotted out. God sent you, I know.”
